About Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is an eclectic medical system including nature cure (use of light, sound, water, food, minerals, exercise, and air), homeopathy, physical medicine, and botanical medicine taken from the traditional views of health and healing from all over Europe. A central component to this system is the observation that living things are self-healing.
We combine the scientific method with age-old wisdom, honoring the effective healing modalities that both defy and comply with attempts at scientific explanation. We specialize in being generalists, recognizing and practicing from the fact of the human being as a functioning whole.
Disease is looked upon as a process vital to health and to life. It is an opportunity to learn; an earnest request to slow down and pay attention to the way we are living in and interacting with the world around us (and within us). At the root of all disease, is a deviation from sustainable living. Treatment involves returning the person to balance through education on better lifestyle choices, methods of incorporating what is taught, and where indicated, various modalities are available to assist the body’s healing process.
The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will instruct his patients on the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.
