Modus Vivendi

Latin for “a way of living”, modus vivendi is a what we teach our patient-students here.  We work with you to help you discover and implement your own individual way to live in an optimally healthy manner.  You learn to create consistent lifestyle improvement and persistently follow through with your intention.  You re-discover the wisdom of your own experience.

To dream anything that you want to dream, that is the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do, that is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself, to test your limits, that is the courage to succeed.

Eat Well

In a very real sense you are exactly what you eat. The body you have today is the result of what you ate in days gone by. The body you will have tomorrow is going to be the result of what you eat today.  Start healing your relationship to food as you begin eating a diet based on whole foods, clean water, and logical supplementation.

Let thy food be thy medicine. Let thy medicine be thy food.

-Hippocrates

Move Well

Exercise as a practice in being healthy, strong, flexible, durable, balanced, agile, focused and courageous; not in trying to become those things. Develop a body which is even stronger than it looks, more capable in a wider range of situations than previously imagined possible and less susceptible injury.  This is an approach to exercise that puts you back in the game of life with the skills to enjoy it and energy to burn!

Our nature consists in motion; complete rest is death.

Relate Well

People have evolved a natural form of being together called the tribe. Tribe is to humans as flock is to geese, pride is to lions, and pack is to wolves. We constantly look for opportunities to be tribal. Teams, cliques, organizations, clubs, etc. are all variations of making this modern world more manageable and personally relevant, in other words, more tribal.  Your relationships to yourself and the world around you are foundational to your health and well-being.

In the beginning of life, when we are infants, we need others to survive. And at the end of life, we need others to survive. But here’s the secret, in between, we need others as well.

Think Well

Think Well

Whether conscious or unconscious, your thoughts determine the actions you take and the choices you make.  The more frequently you respond through conscious thought, the more power you have over your expression of who you are. The second you react without awareness, you are forced to relive your history.  With increasing awareness, you become response-able in the life you are living!

Day by Day what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who
you become. Your integrity is your destiny.

Be Well

You aren’t required or even capable of really changing yourself.  The harder you try, the worse life will seem to get.  You aren’t broken, there’s nothing to fix.  You don’t need to achieve anything to be healthy and well.

At the heart of the matter, the real changes are in how you think about yourself. By discovering your limitations and then overcoming them, you learn to be your own hero. And that, for most of us, is the biggest change of all.
